kennesaw open space and greenway system

The purpose of the project is to educate landowners and residents in regarding the value of urban green space, preservation of natural and environmentally sensitive areas and future development of a city-wide greenway system. The jB+a Park Design Studio developed the city-wide greenway system master plan for Kennesaw. The project also provides a means to encourage Smart Growth and reduce the impact of future development on wooded and environmentally sensitive lands. jB+a worked with the planning firm Urban Collage and with Trees Atlanta on other components of the project including an update to the City’s tree ordinances to protect and preserve natural areas in Kennesaw, and a public meeting to present the city-wide greenway system master plan and to ask area residents and landowners to provide input regarding the City’s future direction in reclaiming and preserving community green space, including future plans for a city-wide greenway system.
