Listening to the St. Simon’s Island community’s desire to create an island-wide greenspace and passive park plan is resulting in the implementation of individual park sites. Through community and business cooperation, as well as diligent fund-raising efforts, the vision previously mapped out in an island wide greenprint is closer to being realized. Working with the St. Simons Land Trust and the Sea Island Company, jB+a recently completed the 85-acre north island linear greenspace master plan for Frederica Botanical Park. Phase I is currently in construction development and upon completion, will provide a 21-acre passive park that includes a multi-purpose open space field, nature trails, and botanical garden.
