The jB+a Park Design Studio worked with the
City of Oglethorpe to analyze a mile-long corridor
of the Flint River to determine the best
way to put Georgia’s last vehicular ferry back
in operation as a “working museum”.
The ferry on Flint River operated until 1988,
when it was taken out of service. jB+a, along
with Hartrampf, will be restoring it and locating
it on the Flint River, between Montezuma and
Oglethorpe. In addition, a riverwalk will be designed,
along with a greenway linking the Flint
River to downtown Oglethorpe. Funding assistance
for implementation will also be provided
once the design for the project is complete. |
