Originally used as a grist mill and later as a water supply
for mill operations, the Dundee Lake Park property
provided recreation to mill employees for many years.
Upon acquiring the property from the Dundee Mills,
Spalding County Parks and Recreation wanted to continue
that recreation tradition.
The jB+a Park Design Studio organized public input
meetings and worked with interested stakeholders and
Spalding County to develop the master plan for Dundee
Lake Park. As a passive park, Dundee Lake will provide
numerous recreation opportunities, including an outdoor
amphitheatre / plaza area, future conference center,
multiple playground and picnicing areas, discovery areas,
and paved multi-use trails, as well as a rail stop that will
connect into the historic Roosevelt Railroad. |
