Burnt Hickory Park is an approximately 160-acre community park located northwest of Atlanta in Paulding County. The park will host a variety of both passive and active recreation amenities including tennis courts, baseball / softball fields, multipurpose fields to be utilized for football and soccer, community center, conference center, festival field, several destination playgrounds, picnic pavilions, multi-use trails and nature trails which wind through conserved greenspace. An outdoor amphitheater and a lake plaza area overlook one of the main activity draws in the park, a large park lake which will accommodate non-motorized lake activities such as canoeing, kayaking, and fishing. Future land use for the park will include a library or senior center as well as a splash ground play area. The jB+a Park Design Studio worked closely with the county, environmentalists, civil engineers, geotechnical engineers, and architects to master plan this new park for the citizens of Paulding County.
