This 500-acre park site on the Chattahoochee River is Douglas County’s largest SPLOST-funded park. Nearly half of the park site is included in the State of Georgia Governor’s
Greenspace Program. The jB+a Park Design Studio developed the master plan for project build-out as well as the construction documents.
The construction documents for Phase One development of this park site includes three facilities: a competition aquatic center, a multipurpose recreation center and a senior center. The site is developed in a village configuration with open greenspace and a main street road connecting the park elements. The park site also includes a fivefield baseball complex, a six-court tennis center, a soccer/football stadium and practice fields.
The future site program elements of the park include a one-mile multiuse trail, a 5k cross-country trail, equestrian trails and connection to a regional greenway system along the Chattahoochee River. The park is also planned to include playgrounds and picnic shelters overlooking open play meadows and lakes. |
