| big creek park
This 160-acre park on Big Creek services the community of the east side of Roswell, Georgia. jB+a worked with the Roswell community and the Recreation and Park Department tomaster plan the recreation, cultural and environmental expectations of the community. The users have diverse needs including an aquatic center, a gymnasium, a performing art center, as well as baseball, softball and soccer fields. They also have passive recreation needs including environmental education, bicycle paths, pedestrian trails, rock climbing walls, BMX trails, picnic facilities, open fields and much more.
The site has significant constraints and opportunities including creeks, wetlands, floodplain, changing topography, rock outcroppings, utility easements, varying native and invasive vegetation, environmental buffers, setbacks and easement limitations. The completed design will be a blend between the community’s expectations and the landscape strategy. |
