The Beaver Ruin Park site is a wetland mitigation site comprised of approximately 58 acres. It has a rich history of various owners, conservation easements and buffers, as well as additional restrictions including delineated wetlands, a 100-year flood plain, blueline stream setbacks, power easements, sewer easements and restrictive covenants. The park is designed to serve as a special purpose neighborhood park for Gwinnett County, Georgia.
The jB+a design will exercise both the mind and body. A 1.35 mile boardwalk loop with LifeTrail Fitness stations winds through this ecologically diverse site. An expanded decking area provides space for Tai Chi and Yoga instruction while seating areas along the boardwalk include information panels regarding the ecology, hydrology and history of the site. Viewing towers and bird watching towers provide areas to view and study the vast water fowl populations. A “Discovery” Nature Trail located on higher ground meanders with the park contours and includes informational signage depicting the native plant materials located throughout the park.
