jB+a, working with Lyman Davidson & Dooley Architects,
met with the stakeholders in Americus to determine the
program for the site. From that meeting, jB+a prepared
two alternate site plans for review and comment. In
both schemes, additional parcels for future development
were located around the entry drive and associated parking
bays were shown beside the building. After review and
comment, a final scheme, Scheme C was created. In
Scheme C, a single, tree-lined entry
drive is used to arrive at a central parking circle, with the
proposed USDA & UGA Extension Service building occupying
the site. A continuation of the entry
drive to the rear of the site provides access to additional
parking and building sites. After the completion of architecture
and engineering of the site, jB+a produced the
landscape plans for the building in its final location.
